NFL, Football Jerseys, The 80's

by Administrator | post a comment

As an 80's young people, I love sport, such as basketball, football, swimming and so on. I also love collecting basketball/football sneakers, official NFL jerseys. What is your hobby as the 80's young people?

Now, we will talk about the NFL of 80's.

1. Troy Ailman-One thing consistent about the Dallas Cowboys is that they always know how to build a team around an excellent quarterback. Roger Staubach in the 70's, Troy Aikman in the 90's and Steve Romo in the 2000's. The Troy Aikman years were a dynasty. Coached by Jimmy Johnson, it included stars Emmit Smith, Michael Irving, and Jay Novacek. With Troy Aikman at the helm, the Cowboys won 3 Super Bowl Championships.

2. Roger Staubach-In the 70's, the Dallas Cowboys were dubbed as America's Team. Roger Staubach was the quarterback and leader of that team. It was team full of legends such as Tony Dorsett, Hollywood Henderson, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, and coached by Tom Landry. Roger Staubach led the Dallas Cowboys to four Super Bowls and winning two of those games. And his football jerseys are popular among football fans at that time.

3. Bo Jackson-Perhaps remembered for the Nike "Bo knows ..." commercials, Bo Jackson was an exciting and powerful running back in his days. He wore the number 34 jersey that are now valued by many retro football collectors. My favorite Bo Jackson moment has to be in the Monday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks when Bo collided head on with Brian Bosworth, a very arrogant linebacker. Bosworth was a highly touted player from Oklahoma and one of the highest paid defensive player at the time. Bo ramrodded through Bosworth on his way to a 221 yard performance.

4. Howie Long-Now a respected sports analyst, Howie Long once wore the number 75 jersey in the Raiders' defensive line. He was first drafted as an Oakland Raider right before the move to Los Angeles and stayed with the team retiring in 1993. Considered as one of the best NFL defensive lineman ever, Howie Long appeared in eight Pro Bowls during his career. His defensive line teammates included Lyle Alzado, Greg Townsend, and Sean Jones. All tough guys, all notable players. My favorite Howie Long moments was not so much in any "real" game, but in a video game. Howie Long was one of the best defenders in Tecmo Bowl. Fast moving and hard hitting, I mostly chose him whenever I'm on defense.
